The president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page , visited the facilities of the Crisnova Vidrio company in Caudete this Tuesday, where he praised the strategic role of the glass industry in regional economic development.
The regional president was accompanied during the visit by the Minister for Sustainable Development, Mercedes Gómez . They toured the facilities of this company, part of the Vidrala group, which recently made a significant investment to strengthen its production capacity.
Investment of 180 million euros
Specifically, the company has planned an investment exceeding €180 million, aimed at strengthening sustainability and energy efficiency at the plant, according to Crisnova CEO Raúl Gómez. «This investment guarantees operations for decades to come,» he stated.
Raúl Gómez also emphasized: «Spanish industry needs to be defended. Today more than ever, given the events unfolding in the Middle East and the serious energy insecurity this crisis is generating in Europe. We need firm support from the country, enabling us to move forward with investment decisions that are more complex to make than ever before. We propose to invest, but we need support.»
Finally, he explained that «we are planning an investment of over €180 million, which would guarantee activity for decades and whose value is even more significant in the current international context. But this moment demands a firm commitment and a corresponding response: from the Government of Spain, with a strong commitment to industry, supporting measures on energy tariffs and industrial deregulation aligned with that of the most ambitious European countries; from the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, whose support in the form of investment incentives is crucial for any long-term industrial initiative; and from our people, whose commitment to the shared project is today’s best guarantee for tomorrow. Together, we can make this project a reality.»
